Working with your accountant

Last updated: July 2026

Fatoora lets you invite your accountant for free — it's included in your plan. They get a secure, read-only view of your books, can prepare pre-audit reviews for you, and can even invoice you from their own workspace. You stay in control and can revoke access anytime.

Invite your accountant

Open Settings → Accountant access and enter your accountant's email. They receive an invitation and, once they sign up (or sign in) with that email, your business appears in their portal automatically.

  • It's free — included in your plan, with no per-seat fees
  • You can invite one accountant, and revoke or re-invite anytime
  • Access is granted by email, so you always know who can see your books

What your accountant can see

Accountant access is read-only. Your accountant can view and download everything they need to do the accounting — invoices, payments, expenses and bills, VAT, Corporate Tax, bank reconciliation, the ledger and reports — but cannot change your records. Sensitive areas such as your bank details and subscription stay private.

Pre-audit reviews

Your accountant can prepare a pre-audit review of your business — a professional, FTA-aware report generated from your books and their own working notes. When they publish it, it appears on your dashboard under Accountant review, where you can read it with a table of contents and download or print it as a PDF. You'll also get an email letting you know it's ready.

For accountants: your workspace

If you're an accountant, sign up choosing “I'm an accountant”. You land in your own practice workspace where you can:

  • See all the clients who granted you access, and switch into any client's books read-only
  • Prepare, edit and publish pre-audit reviews per client, with an exhaustive audit file to fill in
  • Invoice your clients from your own cabinet — one continuous, compliant invoice series

Frequently asked questions

Does accountant access cost extra?+

No. Dedicated accountant access is included in your plan at no extra cost — there are no per-seat fees.

What can my accountant see and do?+

By default your accountant has read-only access to your books — invoices, payments, expenses, VAT, Corporate Tax, reconciliation and reports. They cannot create, edit or delete your records, and they can't see sensitive settings like your bank or subscription details. They can prepare pre-audit reviews and publish them to you.

How do I stop sharing access?+

Go to Settings → Accountant access and revoke the invitation at any time. Access ends immediately.

What is a pre-audit review?+

It's a professional, FTA-aware report your accountant prepares from your books — with your financial position, income, VAT and Corporate Tax review, notes and recommendations. When they publish it, it appears in your dashboard under “Accountant review” and you can read and download it.
