Record and track payments

Last updated: July 2026

Recording payments is what keeps your income real. Once you mark an invoice as paid, your dashboard, VAT and reports all reflect the money that has actually come in.

Record a payment

Open an invoice and add a payment — the full amount or a partial one, with the date received. Fatoora updates the invoice to paid (or part-paid) and adjusts your figures.

See all your payments

The Payments page lists everything you've received, so you can:

  • Check what came in over a period
  • Find a specific payment quickly
  • Edit or delete a payment if something was recorded wrong

Frequently asked questions

Can I record a partial payment?+

Yes. Record what the client paid and Fatoora keeps track of the remaining balance until the invoice is settled in full.

I recorded a payment by mistake — can I fix it?+

Yes. You can edit or delete a payment from the invoice or the Payments list, and the invoice status updates accordingly.
